Well, I bought the comp T/A VR4 15" 205/60's in the end. Thanks,
as ever, to the folks who came through with advice. I guess what
I actually wanted was a mild performance tire that wouldn't be
treacherous in wet weather/snow/slush. Hopefully the comp's will
fill this role. Only had them on since last night so can't give
much of an assessment, but they're a world apart from the worn
out-piece-of-crap eagle-GA "touring" things that were on there.

By the way, I got the new tires at National Tire Wharehouse, for
$91 + approx $10 m&b each - after telling them tire rack's price
was $89.
