I have a V8Q w/the Bose system and coincidentally work for an autosound
manufacturer, Panasonic.  I feel the Bose system sounds fine at low volumes
because the bass is distinct and strong.  At high volumes, no matter what
music, from rock to classical, the bass is boosted too high.  I usually crank
the bass control all the way off at higher volumes.  
Listen to both before you buy.   I will be upgrading my system soon with an
aftermarket CD and amp but may keep the speakers intact.  I will do some
sound testing with equipment.  A good stereo shop will do that for you before
you upgrade.
