HOLD THE REPAIRS-Let's have fun
Dear Quattro Quolleagues,
Since I signed on 2 months ago, I've been reading about and using some of the
great repair info exchanged here. But hey guys-let's take a break-how about
some fun?
How about sharing some >>personal<< Quattro (or Audi) highlights and
lowlights? For example: My personal highlights-
1) Screaming around Lime Rock, in my 87 5kcsTQ at the first Q club event
there in 1992. I had been "cut loose" to drive myself, and although you're
not supposed to listen to music while running, I wanted to play something
that when played again in the future, would bring back memories of that sunny
day, the track, and whole experience. E.L.P.s "Fanfare for the Common Man"
was just right.
2) I had always wanted to buy a "showroom car". You know what I mean? They
always put the nicest model IN the showroom.Well in 1987, I was looking to
trade in my 84 5k. I was aware of the Quattro models currently available, but
I was hoping to see something different-I don't know what-just different.
When I arrived I looked around on the dealer's lot at the various colors,
white, black, silver, ho-hum. Then I walked inside-right in the center of the
place with spotlights strategically placed was a PEARL 5kcsTQ -never heard of
that color before, but it WAS what I was looking for - we made the deal that
day.
Personal lowlight:
Passing up on a last minute opportunity to see the SCCA Quattros race, about
2 hrs away. Stuck and Haywood finished 1,2. It was such a hot day, I couldn't
pass on watching it on TV with the good old a/c running-but I wish I had
gone.
So how bout it, anyone else?
