Re: Summit Point QCUSA Event

The M3 was the 95 E36 vintage. Both the drivers (the S4's was an
18 yr old, but dad had 15 years experience racing porsches and
was also an instructor at the event) were VERY good. I don't
know about straight specs comparison for the two vehicles, but
the M3 driver could tell when the S4's turbo kicked in, which
always seemed exactly at the time he was ready to pass it. He
said the experience was both enjoyable and frustrating at the
same time. Also, given the wet pavement, the Bimmer was much
more tailhappy until later on in the day.

Also, the S4 had an adjustable wastegate with a guage mounted in
the dash for it. The owner said the car was stock except for the
guage. I dunno, but except for those two points, it looked it.

The other notable vehicles there were an 83 tqc that had been
bored out to 2.5L with a stroker, many who drove it were
impressed by how "torquey" it felt. An '84 GT that had been
prepped for ITB (header and straight pipe...very loud!). And
also a couple of the '91 200tq's that had Mike Spiers drooling.

          It was a nice day......
