Repairing window switch LEDs/replacing console switch bulbs
The days are getting shorter, the nights longer, and I would like to see my instruments and switches!
First of all, unlike some other unfortunate Audi owners, my power window switches do still work. What isn't working is the illumination. I will assume that the illumination is provided by an LED, based upon my examination of a switch from another model.
Based on the experinces of fellow listers, what happened? The switch that I looked at had an LED soldered to a resistor and directly to one of the switch leads.
I thought that the advantage of using an LED over a bulb was its long life?
Did Audi not properly derate the LED, and put it into a near overstress condition?
Does anyone have a recommended replacement LED part number/source?
Also, the light bulbs in my ABS on/off switch and rear window defroster burned out. The bulbs appear to be "grain of wheat" bulbs. Does anyone have a part number handy?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions!
