Engine start knock.

Hola!

My '84 4KS with 63K mi and Mobil 1 15W-50, new distributer, plugs, wires, 
running 93 octane always, *inhale* has this loud knock for
the first 3-4 seconds after starting a cold engine.  I realize the oil has
settled, but this car seems to knock more than any previous.  Is it just the
VW engine (I've never had one b4)?

Should I use slick 50?  JUST Kidding....  <--- Reason one not to have
a newsgroup!

Oh, I started a small discussion about fuel injector cleaner additives.  )My
girlfriend added a bottle of STP to a tank, I freaked).  An interesting and
possibly unrelated effect is that there seems to be just a tad more early
detonation (ala tappping) in cyl #4, since it was added.  We'll see if it
goes away once I go through this tank...
