upper stress bar and short throw shift kit?

Hi Gang,

	Just noticed this in Nov.'s EC; it ties in with a thread from a few
weeks back:

I have no connection with these folks, I haven't even talked to them, just saw
it in the mag.

	While read said mag. I found an article about installing a short throw
shift kit in some VW. This reminded me that 2-3 years ago I went on a quest to
find a short throw kit for my '87 5KCSTQ, but to no avail. All the parts boys I
called had never heard of such a kit for an Audi, 5K anyways. Have any of you
out there ever seen or tried a device?? I've thought of shortening the stick
itself, but haven't been able to convince myself that that's the way to go.
