re:BE CAREFUL!, getting even?

Just another data point for those who use highways. While eastbbound on the
NYS Thruway this past Wednesday, a tractor-trailer took exception to my car
('88 5000tq) occupying space in front of him on the interstate. So he starts
flashing his high-beams, starts to pass, pulls up along side, then chooses
to merge while still along side my car, forcing me onto the shoulder. Weeeee.

I followed him to get license plate, and any other pertinient info to report
upon leaving the interstate. Unfortunately, once I got to the toll booth and
attempted to relay the story to the ever helpful toll-booth attendant, all I
got was "Sorry, there's nothing we (or the state troopers) can do." The
implication was that I would have had to follow the guy around, then hail the
police with a cell phone once he stopped. Not a very efficient means for
folks like me who have no cell phone.

Any suggestions on how to deal with such situations? I pondered a few very
crude options (like going to the trucking company after hours and welding
all their doors shut) but would be interested in something more timely,
creative, and likely to convey a more permanent (even legal :)) message.

BTW: The cab belonged to **SCHUMAKER TRUCKING** and had Ohio Plates **T479YE**
and was last seen exiting I-90 at Syracuse.

Hmmmm....I also made the obligatory bi-monthly offering to the Audi deities on
Thursday by having the A/C compressor replaced. Art Mayhew's place, Salisbury
Center NY, 315-429-9902. Nice guy, some of you may have met him at Watkin's
Glen or Lime Rock this summer.

Thanks!
