Definitely be careful! These guys don't give an inch, and they are much
bigger than we are (however, we are more nimble). Give them the right of way,
even if it "hurts" to do so. Someday, while lying in the hospital (grave!?)
we may regret playing "chicken" with these "clowns". I have to constantly
remind myself not to play that hard (it's tough!).

As far as "returning the favor", I have always heard that adding some sugar
to the fuel tank "helps". I have never tried it, but heard that it works
"wonders!" (Disclaimer: Don't try this on your own car, nor your friends.
It's a gift that you only want to give to "very special friends").
