Exhaust noise

Q'rs,

I posted a few days ago that I had installed a Borla rear muffler and a
straight pipe in the center muffler position. In listening to the
resulting noise in the cabin, especially around 2000 rpm, I get the
impression that a good deal of it is being transmitted through the floor,
perhaps from the walls of the pipe, rather than from the tailpipe.

Has anyone on the list tried wrapping sound insulation around the exhaust
pipe, or clamping stuff to it to make it less resonant? Alternatively,
does anyone have any experience with aftermarket sound insulating kits? I
recall reading about a kit from Sco???? in the same issue of EC that
featured the urQ. Any experience?
