Actually, you're close but it's decreased resistance in the curcuit that
causes non heavy duty flashers to flash more rapidly.  When you add trailer
lights, they end up in parallel with the originals, reducing resistance.
Heavy duty flashers avoid that effect by being insensitive to load.
