Sounds like your injector seals are bad. The injectors should not be loose.
If they are, the injector O-rings are shot. Not very hard to replace.

Yes. And all the Quattro stuff on the console lights up too.

No. 4000's just have an external fuel pump. Those wires are for the 
fuel gauge sending unit.

Leak around the windshield. They like to leak into the glove box. The 
rubber seal around the windshield probably needs to be replaced (very common 
problem on older 4Ks).
