My Bentley manual for the '84-'88 5000S/5000CS indicates "start of
production" = 8/86 for the NF series.  HP = 130 @5600 RPM, torque = 140 ft lb
@ 4000 RPM.  Just went out and checked my '87 5000SQ's engine and the seriel
# stamped on the block starts "*NF...."

I'll be curious to hear how the conversion goes, and whether it would work on
a synchro...
