Clutch pressure plate/release bearing problem?

Got an 89 200tq. About a year ago the dealer mechanic told me I had a clutch
pressure plate/release bearing problem. He showed me by having the car in
neutral, getting RPM's to around 5000 and one could hear a rattle from the
engine area. I was advised one can live with this, but don't remember
if/how it gets worse, but he did not paint a serious picture if they were not
replaced.

However, I have been dealing with an issue since having the car, think its
the same issue, and I want to fix it because it's annoying, if the price is
right. Problem is as follows: When I get the RPM's to around 4200 I can
feel a vibration in the gas pedal and when I shift, feel the same vibration
in the clutch when I push it in. This does not happen if I change before it
gets to 4200. Hense, I have been shifting around 3800-4000 and have not
experienced any odd feel, its just when I get it to 4200 is when I "feel
things". Like I mentioned, I have been living with this for a year. Does
this sound like a clutch pressure plate/release bearing problem?

Dealer quoted me $600 for parts/labor for the pressure plate and $500 for
release bearing. I know I can get a lower cost on the parts, however, if I
need to do this, can I do one repair and do another after I pay off Xmas
gifts? If so, which is most important to do first? Or should I spend my
money on more important repairs like my leaking PS rack and live with this!
  TIA, Scott
