Was that 'friend' or 'fiend'?
Most mechanics selling Monroes (or Gabriels or whatevere brand they push)
usually do so 'cause there's a good margin in it for them.  Just doing what
serves their best interest.  (this in no way detracts from their mechanical
abilities--just raises questions about their impartiality)
