block heater

Look at your local weather map, find the region with the lowest temps in 
the nation.  That's where I'm at.  So time to talk about block heaters.
Assuming my audi has one ('86 5KCS), where would it be located at?  I 
looked all over the engine compartment and couldn't find one.  Next 
question, any particular model work better than others?  How hard is it 
to install?  Running outside every three hours while the car is parked 
outside at work is not much fun.  I'd like to spend as little time 
outside as possible, thank you.
