1995 model year S6s were built until November/December of 1995 - about five
months after the traditional end of the model year, and long after the A6/A4
had converted to the new model year.

S6s produced after July, or so, incorporate the new Delta radio, quattro IV
(with Electronic Differential Locking front and rear), and a host of other
small changes that are also included on the '96 A6.  The last of the S6s are
model year 1996 in virtually every way except the VIN number.

There won't be a '96 S6 because the old I5 20V turbo engine does not meet the
second generation onboard diagnostic requirements (OBD II; it is required for
all model year '96 cars in the US).
