Re: S6 question

The reason you got wheel slip in second gear at around 3500 rpm is that you
exceeded the operating threshold for the Electronic Differential Lock (EDL).
It only intercedes at road speeds up to 25 mph. If it were allowed to be
operational at higher speeds it could lead to cooked brakes in high duty
cycle applications.

Many two-wheel drive cars use a similar brake intervention system as a form
of low speed traction control (Volvo 850, Volkswagens with the VR6 engine
...).

As to the use of Delta radios in late S6s, plus other updates, see my earlier
post. It was a matter of keeping the S6 on the same production and assembly
basis as the other cars, but not changing the S6 VIN numbers to the new model
year. This little subterfuge allows producing 1995 cars a little bit longer
than normal, extending their availability in the face of a final production
stop before the end of the calendar year (instead of the arbitrary madel
year).
