The "P" is the Platin designation...... The POR is the serious duty one.....
"DTC" is the copper designation - tri electrode the, plain DC is the single
copper electrode, the "DS" is the silver electrode.

Not quite correct, if you cut a DP plug electrode apart the "spot" of
platinum (or platinum tip as it;s referred) is not measureable in height.
The POR Electrode (or platinum plug, as it's reffered to) protrudes .060
above the cone of the electrode, and is about 15X+++ the size (as in length)
of the DP. And in fact, the Platinum plug has an electrode (before tip) dia
of .100" and the Platin has an electrode dia. of .175 (before "spot") The DP
is a top gap plug with no wear tolerance, the DPOR is a side gap with a wear
tolerance on the ground tip of .040...... Bosch has assured audi that the
DPOR is a 30k part on the S4, which had a propensity to eat all other
plugs.....

I would have hoped that Bosch would feel obligated to educate distributors
and dealers to the differences in their apps and plug design...... It really
would help people who don't take the time to educate themselves. And at
15.00 a piece, you'd think there would be some education dollars
available.......

Are the DP and the DPOR both platin/um/s, yessir. Is there advantages to one
over the other, you bet. Hope this exercise helps all that cared, and made
easy choices for those that don't.
