I'd test the battery before looking at alternator problems.  Be sure it
has the proper amount of electrolyte solution (add distilled H2O if
needed).  Trickle charge it for several hours.  Then apply a load test to
it (a load tester is basically a 12V heater element - you attach it to
your battery and watch the guage on the tester for 30 seconds).  If the
load test gives good results, then you should look at the alternator.  I'm
sure you could get a price for rebuilt or used units from many of the
vendors.
