It's in there I'm sure, but if not, it's on the VW FAQs (I know, I
cowrote it!). The short answer is phosphate in antifreeze could
damage your engine, Audi/VW recommends against it. You can pay $13
to $15/gal for the Autobahn coolant at the dealer, or several
companies now make phosphate free formulas. I use Prestone, in
the silver bottle, which runs about $5-6/gal at any large autoparts
store.
