Re: 96 A4Q Purchase Information Req.

It took approximately 2 weeks if I remember correctly. Which was actually the
time I put as ready to buy in the survey so it was right on. (Or at least close
enough that I didn't mind). I picked auto by tel probably because they were a
link from edmunds which I frequent often.

As far as price, I got a A4Q with pearl paint, weather, remote, all the
possible trimmings excluding automatic (I like to really drive it :) ) for
30 and change. I probably could have gotten it a little less but am quite
satisfied considering there were very very few quatts in the bay area. (I
believe I saw no more than 5 at dealers and I believe 2 were manual, and none
of the manuals was the color or other options I desired). So with all that in
mind, and the fact that I only say the red quatt for less and was told it was
less because it was hard to move red, I went ahead with the 30 and change.

Something that I liked about auto by tel (this may be different with you). The
dealer was 2 hours away so all deal making was done on the phone. For 2 1/2
weeks I talked to the dealer on the phone, and not till Feb 29 did I hear a
hint of urgency in his voice. I think I was lucky to get a dealer with
patience. Where as other dealers, I went in to the showroom and was hounded if
I got attention (I guess it's uncommon for a 23yr old to want the Audi).

So that was my experience...
By the way, if you are looking for Quatts, and Sacramento isn't too far, look
up Niello Audi, ask for Tom... By far the best salesperson I've run into.

Joseph --

I'm planning to do the same thing in a few weeks. Any other info on
Auto-by-tel (how long did it take, etc.) Also, what made you choose them
vs. other services on the net.

If you don't mind, what price did they quote you vs sticker?

Thanks,
David
