Re: Springs and other wild rumors ...

Boy, get busy and stay off the list for a few days ... you never know
what abuse is going to go flying past =8-]

First, spring stuff ...

The springs I've made are 2.5" high x 1 9/16" diameter. I believe they
will be usable and an improvement over stock for most everything except
some of the factory hot rods, like some of the early TQ Coupes that had
a different wastegate. I'd be really supprised if they fit the S4 and S6
stuff, my guess is those cars have much stronger springs to begin with.

I do have springs left, and I've got the addresses of two or three people
who have asked for one. I've been sidetracked by disk crashes losing
my mailbox files (in case you think I'm ignoring you), and then a week
and a half at Daytona bikeweek - like Steve noted below :-/
If you've asked for one and haven't heard from me, please email me your
snail mail address and I'll send you one, you can send a check after
you receive the spring.

I haven't gotten back onto the adjustable overboost control box. I'll
try to get some attention on that soon.

Now, on to Steve Powers allegations ...

Yeah, a turbo'ed BMW bike has come to live in the garage - it doesn't
have any tweaks as yet. There oughta be a lot of potential after I
do something about the lack of brakes and some other minor details.

The above mentioned Florida Achievment Award wasn't for high speed
endurance or anything spiffy - it was written for "careless operation"
 - which translates to a loud red Ducati passing a cop with an attitude
in an unmarked car - at one point in the roadside conversation he told
me he was really disappointed I didn't have a "biker from hell" attitude
because he'd been looking forward to hauling me off to jail.
So much for Florida's finest. ;-P

As far as off roading with the Ducati - it wasn't exactly planned that
way. I'll have you know my map definitely showed that Montana 324
through the Lemhi pass was a paved road ... turned out to be about
25 miles of two track dirt in the finest Lewis & Clark tradition.
But when you're cross country touring you have to tour the country
as you find it!
