RE: Black paint on mid-80's Audi's

My '85 Ur-Q has the ' Graphite Black Metallic' paint and it has held up *VERY WELL*! Perhaps some others have been abused or poorly repainted. I am not one to spend a lot of time waxing and polishing either. I usually just wash with dishwashing detergent and evaporate or towel-dry. If it gets waxed even once a year it was a good year! (I know - should be beaten severely about the head and shoulders!) The paint still looks excellent/bordering on new - except the leading edge of the hood from stone chips and some of the plastic parts, airdams, bumpers and spoiler.
