4k sound options

Out of curiosity, are doors on the 4K and 5k from 1985- similar? The reason
I ask this question is that I have become dissatisfied with the low-fi
stereo system in my 1986 4kcsq. I want more than four speakers, and I want
better sound in the front than the 3 1/2" speakers can provide. So, the
option I am left with is inserting speakers in the front doors. If I want
any kind of bass, I will need to use free-air woofers. I don't want to do
this because it is not thump I am after, but rather accuracy. If I want
accuracy I will need a sealed enclosure type woofer. On the 5ks with the 10
speaker set up, on the front doors the interior panels also function as
enclosures for the bass drivers, correct? Is there anything that might
prevent me from interchanging the interior front door panel for the interior
door panel on my 4k?
