ur-q fuse & relay upgrades?

     I had a simialr problem with my 83' TQC. It started doing it just while 
   I was trying to start it.

There is no "easy" answer -- there is no one "oh yeah, they all fail
this way" answer. The whole electrical system *SUCKS*. You just gotta
go through the whole thing piece by piece, wire by wire, connector by
connector until you stumble across today's offender. Extremely time-
intensive. 

Wow! Such prollums!

Thank God most of these prollums were fixed by 85 (cept the crappy french tail lamp assys). Upgrading the fuse panel to the 'modern' blade-style fuses is a very popular upgrade for the VW crowd, perhaps there is a viable upgrade path to the 85-style ur-q fuse and relay setup.....
