You can't convert miles per gallon to litres per gallon.  The measurement 
on the instrument panel is litres per one hundred kilometres.  My car 
gets 5.9-6.5 l/100km highway and 8.5-9.5 l/100km combined city/highway.  
City only is really crappy at 10.5++
