Fog light question, defrost switch question

Still learning about my "new" 89 100.  I understand that the button
between the ABS-off and Rear window defrost buttons is the fog light
switch.  Alas, my car has no fog lights installed.  I hear they're $80
each + installation.  Are they worth it?  I'd like to get them; are they
difficult to install?  Also, are there third-party lights that are cheaper
or better?  I'm anticipating lots of bad weather driving this year since
I'm moving to Rochester, NY.

BTW, the fog light switch has a little yellow triangle that lights up when
I press it...why does it do this if there are no such lights on the car?  

Speaking of these switches, the RW defrost switch doesn't seem to have any
indicator light when its on?  It there one, and where should it be?  If it
is out, how can I fix it?
