Cold feet!
My 88 5000Q insists on blowing all A/C air out the defog and footwell vents.
While I appreciate that the A/C contoller knows best (why else would it be
automatic?:), I sure would like the air to come out the center vents.
I pulled the console off this weekend and figured out how the system works. By
pushing down the large flap in the heater box (reached it though the center vent
outlet) air got redirected to the center vents. Yet I could not find the
actuator to make this happen. All my vacuum hoses look okay, but I'm sure I
missed some.
So my questions are:
1. Where is the control box from whence all vacuum hoses begin and end?
2. Where is the actuator for the center flap?
3. How do I make this thing work?
My fresh/recirc flap is also not working but I have Steve Buchholz's
wonderfully detailed procedure on how to fix the spring (if that is the cause).
Any advice/expertise would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
