Warning Note About Lock Lube
Howdy there, folks. Last weekend I finally took my own advice and
popoed the door panels off my '90 200, and lubed all the lock linkage
pivot points.
Howsomever when I put it back together and tried to start it, the
factory burglar alarm went off and I could NOT get the stupid thing
to stop honking and flashing....until I disconnected the battery.
I attribute the alarm to the amount of lock depressing and releasing
I did while lubing the linkage....must have cofucsed the simple
thing.
O'course, just after I got the battery disconnected, my lovely
wife got far enough into the owner's manual to inform me that I
needed to close and lock all doors with the key, then unlock them
with the key, to shut off the alarm.
And then....it was Miller time. Happy Memorial Day (US only...)...!
