I don't know if my used, er pre-owned Audi has a factory or rebuilt
compressor or not. But I think of the whine as Audio Turbo Simulator. Sorta
like nice jet-like muted scream when racing for redline.

This is on a 87 5000s. With smelly SlagMaster tm brake pads.
And wishing for a nice rotary compressor conversion.
