Auto-Locks - NOT
Over the weekend, the aftermarket (Cliffrod Arrow) alarm system in my car
stopped working. Meaning when I shut the car off & pressed the arm button,
nothing happened. So, I turned the alarm off 'till I could bring the dumb
thing back to the installer on Thursday (today.) Well, yesterday after work, I
went down & unlocked the passengers door to put something in, then went over to
the drivers door to get in, & it was still locked. Unlocked the drivers door,
that unlocked all the doors like normal, but now nothing will lock again if I
push either drivers or passengers door lock down. No vaccuum motors running
like I've always heard. Messing around under the back seat last night looking
for the door locking mechanism, I found a ground lead that had broken off. I
reconnected it & voila, my alarm system works. Still no door locks tho. My
alarm locks/unlocks the doors when you arm/disarm it, is it possible that it
shorted something out in the locking mechanism when it was not grounded? The
alarm no longer locks/unlocks anything either. I checked the #19 fuse (Central
Locking) & its fine. No idea where to look, ideas anyone?
