V8 Hall Sender results
Ok.... Here we go....
As you all remember the flashlight mode gave me the 2113
code or your hall sender is out to lunch error....
Last night I climbed under the hood to do the hall sender
checking dance..... per the V8 factory manual....
First test:
You pull both coil wires off, peel the rubber boot back on
the hall sender connector to reveal 3 pins neatly labeled
on the connector. Connect pin 1 and 3 together with a
light in the middle, turn the car over, the light is supposed to
flash every other revolution. No light. Figured I didn't have a
good connection. connected wires to neg and pos battery
posts, light goes on. Try it a couple times nogo, then did 2
and 3 connected still no light. Not looking good....
Second test:
Connect 1 and 3 together and measure for voltage on the sender itself.
nothing. This test seems weird though, manual specifically says
sender not connector and connector unconnected. Where would the
distributor get power with it being connected ?
Anybody else with the manual take a look at I beilieve is section
24-140, it's under GENERAL ENGINE. Am I reading this right ?
Thanks,
Mike L.
