RE: Questions
1) Using 225/60 tires will screw up mph and tachometer - they won't have
the same rollout. They'd probably fit, but I don't know about rubbing in
turns. After getting new 215/60's on mine, I'm glad I didn't go to
another size. They're wide enough for me and quite comfortably tall
without giving up much in handling. Of course, I have Z rated Dunlop
D40-M2s, so...
2) Dunlop D40-M2s. BFG Comp T/A are supposedly good too.
3) An Audi dealer :-( I'd go through Linda @ Carlsen for the list
discount as the prices are insanely high... I'd love to know if you find
any other sources. You can try a reputed fix first: a couple of very
hard stops from around 80mph will supposedly cure the warped brake
problem... I haven't tried it yet, but I intend to if I get the problem
again after the Audi parts and labour warranty expires as it'll save big
bucks.
