Re: Electrical Gremlins

   All this mythololgy has affected my 91 200 STEADItqw. Tonight,
   headlights go on, dash gets funky. Both turn signal indicators stay

Tell me about it . . . yesterday evening, went to car, battery completely
totally drained . . . got a jump, ran fine, drove home, grabbed the as-
sortment of meters, and scoped it out -- everything fine (for an Audi;
voltage only 13.1 or so) although battery still not satiated, sucking
up 20 amps or so. This morning, everything fine, starts right up, bat-
tery draws 60 amps rapidly [30 seconds, very normal behavior] tapering
off to 20+ amps, so all is normal. Drive to work, as I hit the parking
lot, the rear defroster light on the dash lights up! Hmmm...yup, drawing
10amps with ignition off! POS!! As I play with the defrost switch (this
is '83, all "mechanical" switching, none of those ****ing Audi computers
involved here), the A/C relays are clacking away! WTF??!! disconnect
the rear defroster, pull the relays, stomp into work in a BAD mood! I
know what *I* will be doing this weekend (and it's not what I had in-
tended to be doing, either)! I could learn to really **HATE** these
. . .
