Lime Rock Lap

Well I went,

I saw the two S6s do their best. Tough competition too. As mentioned the TT
911s are awsome. Standing half way down the front straight near the flagman the
car would run wide exiting the downhill and with barely a sound would rip by.
Not so silent was the Liggenfelter Firebird. Faster than the Porsche at many
tracks.

The E60 Mercedes was pretty cool too as were the 2.3 16s also running.

Just such a great collection of cars and people. How about a '78? Olds 88. A
beater with no bumpers. Just a station car.

A Blazer? with a chopped to and a great red/yellow paint job.

The Audis were of course a nice pair and I should have some good photos to.

Last but not least and described to me by Brock Yates as "one bad ass race car"
was a '95 Corvette Grand Sport with some new fangled supercharger on it. Not
Vortech or Paxton. Something else. It sounded as if all the belts were loose
or maybe on popping the hood the car was powered by one huge dry bearing. The
whistle from this thing was loud and crazy. But who cares. It went 201mph at
Michigen. Yeah 201! Brock said the other cars only were doing "ya' know only
170 or so". Yeah right , I only do that all the time. The car was much more
than engine and went way deep into Big Bend before braking.

I didn't get times for anybody. That is for C&D to do.

It kind of makes me want to do the One Lap someday. Slow or fast it just seems
like a really horribly wonderful way to spend a week.
