The sensor on the '88 5k is mounted on the airflow sensor and ends up hidden
under the left front quarter panel on that car.  When we bought the '88 the
readings didn't even almost make sense, I was told by the dealer that the 
part was not available separately (from the fuel distributor?).  I found that
I could get at the wiper by reaching up through the airbox after removing the
air filter.  I pressed the wiper down harder and rubbed it back and forth a 
few times to try to clean the contacts.  The readings are still rather opti-
mistic, but closer than before ... depending upon the year there are differ-
ent ways of adjusting the calibration of the readings ... check out the 
Bentley.
