I don;t know if your porblem is that your stere is set up like my dad's Bose
but his is said to have overload protection that will cut out the speakers
if too much power goes through them the only solution I have found is to 
turn down the bass somewhat the output on the Bose sucks also IMHO.
They were not worth an extra $1000 (goof thing my dad got it used)
