5k struts

Planning to install Boge TG in my wife's '88 5ks soon along with upgrade to 
15" wheels/tires and maybe turbo swaybars.

Reading the archives, found some old mail referring to the Zelenda special 
tool which makes changing front struts on a 5k a snap.  Can I change the strut
bearings also using this tool or does the strut need to come off the car to 
get at the bearings?  The last time I did struts on a 5k, it was a very 
painful experience.
