There's an external schematic in "Audi Quattro Modelljahr 1990 
ZUSATZSTROMLAUFPLAN ELECTRONISCHER SCHALTTAFELEINSATZ (LCD KOMBI) No. 59".  
Doesn't tell you anything about the guts of dear old J128, though.

It looks as if both the fuel consumption and remaining range displays have 
"fudge" adjustments.  Fascinating stuff.

You should have asked me in the quattro marquee at Coy's - I had the books with 
me then.
