Subject: A/C programmer question
i have an 86 TqW, so this question should relate to all mid-80's 5K's:
the flap in the blower box that directs air to the face vents is sticking
in the shut position. (what else is new? i've heard this one before - glen?)
for now, i am quite happy to have it ON all the time (100+F), so i removed the
vacuum switch and tie-wrapped the lever in the on position. my question
concerns the vacuum lines (yellow and green) to this switch from the A/C
programmer ("terminal" positions 2 & 3). what is the normal "signals" in
these lines when opening or closing the flap? when the flap should be open
(at max cooling), i get vacuum in the green line, but i see no changes at any
setting in the yellow one. should they both "go on" (vacuum) to open the flap
or is green open and yellow closed? what would be a typical vacuum reading
for these lines if i put a gauge on it (mityvac)?
tia...
