fault CODES HELP! please (POSSIBLE ANSWER!!!!)

Bentley is being more than a tad simplistic.  Even if dumping the ECU _does_ 
give code  2141 (poor octane) this can also result from incorrect mixture.  The 
yellow light has more than one meaning - I posted the ones documented for the 
ur-quattro earlier.

In passing, I should note that the diagnostic function in the ECU enables a 
theif to find where in the car's circuitry the immobiliser has been fitted.  
It's essential that any immobiliser disable the starter motor as well as some 
fundamental part of the ignition.

The ECU contains a further function - it can be used to drive some of the 
electronically controlled valves for in-situ diagnostics.  This is helpful for 
testing all sorts of things, such as cold start valves.
