Dear Mr. Goggin:
Thank you for your recent letter and thoughts regarding the Quattro Club. I
have shared your letter with several board members and will make sure the
remainder receive it at our next meeting.
The Quattro Club has gone through many changes since its initial founding
ten years ago by Frank Beddor. In late 1993 Frank officially incorporated
the club. He appointed a board of directors based in Minnesota to
facilitate the organization of the club in its formative years. Since then
we have begun the process of developing regional chapters in an effort to
encourage participation and involvement from all club members.
The election process recently approved by our board openly solicits the
participation and input from each of our regional chapters. It is our first
attempt at this process and we received input from the BMW club as to how to
best accomplish our goal. The Nominating Committee is heavily weighted in
favor of members (more than my QQ article planned) from outside Minnesota.
Any member may submit their name to the Committee for consideration.
As of today, there are four individuals who have indicated an interest in a
board position, none of whom are from Minnesota. If the process does not
produce the results of more member input, it will be changed next year. I
sincerely hope to be part of a process to make the board accountable to and
representative of the national membership.
The other issues you brought up will be discussed by the entire board. I
hope we will be able to make some positive progress which you can support.
Thank you again for your interest.
Sincerely,
C. Scott Thiss
President
