No. All 928 engines are linerless. They can be re-bored using special
equipment and techniques, as documented in the shop manual and practiced by
Renntech in Florida. Some ultra hot-rod guys have removed the cylinders
altogether and put in iron cylinders, but this has nothing to do with
production.
