More painting over "chrome" trim...



Thanks for all of the suggestions (I don't have time at the moment to thank
everyone individually) but I'm afraid the tape approach isn't the way to go
here in the desert due to the heat ... BTDT (twice, in fact).

My friend is going to bead-blast everything and then paint it with the same
paint as used on the car but with a flex additive ... since I'll replace it
if it doesn't work (one of the reasons for doing this in the first place is
to save the $500+ it would cost to do so ... remember, this car got blasted
with cinders on a trip to NM last spring so it's already half-blasted as it
is!), I figure it's worth the gamble.  I'll keep everyone posted.

BTW, the 17" wheel curse struck me last week: No, I didn't bend one but the
right-rear needs to be repainted because it was scuffed against a curb.  No
damage to the wheel, fortunately, but the paint didn't like this at all.  I
guess this is to be expected when the rims are wider than the tires!   :^(
