As far as year-round tire go;be careful. I too had good experience with
fresh tires in my first winter with all-season tires (Goodyear G800s);
by the second winter they had worn to 1/2 tread and snow traction
was terrible. I have since bitten the bullet and gotten extra wheels
and a set of snow tires in a 195/65X15; the car is once again a winter
mountain goat in the hilly Pittsburgh terrain.

cut loose in snow was when I intentionally whacked the throttle WFO. Power
