Re-Fool?
Hi Phil
Just saw your posting in the Digest. I have had the car exactly a week
today, and I am still going over it with a fine tooth comb and trying to
work out some obvious and some not so obvious systems, in order to get a
picture in my mind of the cars mechanical structure and Electrical
Structure.
I retained the 90q and purchased this car as a project. As such it is not
pristine and in places shows that it is 12 years old. I could not afford
the initial outlay to purchase a pristine or even very good example, so I
decided to buy a lesser one and spread the cost out on hopefully minor or
semi minor repairs/replacements along the way. So far the car has not
disapointed me in fact quite the reverse.
I appreciate the help and good natured advice of places like the quattro
list, and have applied to David for a membership application for the UK
Quattro Owners Club. People like Nigel Banks for instance who are members
of this club have gone out of their way to be helpfull and supportive of me
and my ambition to own a Ur q.
It is fair to say I think that if people like myself don't purchase the
lower end of the market and try to bring them back then the numbers of Ur
q's will dwindle that much faster.
I will try and make it to the Plough Inn on the 12. In the meantime I have
already ordered the Ur q Fiche, and I am still attempting to get that and
the Other two Quattro Fiches that I own onto a computer in a usable format
as I don't own a Fiche reader but I do a computer. If and when I acheive
this then I shall make this available to the List and UK Owners club, along
with details of how I managed it. It is my intention to put it into a
database so that other cars can be added and various diagrams can be
searched etc..
