Wiesbaden radio - NOT wanted any more!
When I made my post regarding looking for a used Wiesbaden (spelling
correct now?) stereo to replace my dying one in my '90 Coupe Quattro,
a few listers indicated they had one. Trying to decide on a price, I
called a few junkies (or are they "recyclers" in these politically correct
times?). Nobody had one, but a local Pittsburgh VW/Audi shop (Paul's
VW ; 412/884-8866) was very helpful in telling me that Audi dealers sell
remanufactured OE stereos. Figuring they would still want $300+, I decided
it wouldn't hurt to give them a call. Well, this is what they quoted me:
dealer #1: $74, must order
dealer #2: $121, in stock
dealer #3: $75, must order
All have a 1 year warranty, and require a trade-in of your dead unit.
I went with dealer #3 since I have dealt with him for several years and he
has been extremely supportive of the Porsche Club (of which I am an active
member). Parts guy said would take about a week to get it; will let you know
conclusion.
