4KSQ blinker & hood problems FIXED

Hello all,

The problem was a bad ground at the terminal under the dash.

I traced the three wires from the blinker bulb to under the dash.
Simply pulling the ground plug off the terminal (bolted to the car
body under the dash) and putting it back on fixed the problem.

It seems that all brown wires are ground wires in my 85 Audi 4000SQ.

Thanks to Phil and Bruce for their help!

Also, my hood release now works perfectly. The key was realizing that
the release cable SHEATH plays an essential role by pressing against the
release arm on the driver's side. (Actually, the sheath presses a
plastic nipple which presses the release arm.) Thus, the release arms
on each side come towards each other.

BTW, there is a little screw at the end of the cable (under the hood, on
the drivers side) that can be used to adjust the tension if anyone is
having a hard time opening their hood.

Just loosen it, then pull the cable through as tightly as possible while
only SLIGHTLY moving the latches that release the hood, then tighten the
bolt. After letting go, the latches should be in the normal non-release
position by taking up the inevitable slack in the cable. Also clean
and lube the springs on the underside of the hood and the release latches.
Your hood should again release smoothly & without banging on the hood.

Thanks to Huw Powell and Greg for their help on this one.
