Thanks for the measurement information - very useful.

It seems that the best thing for me to do would be to upgrade to Feb 87
spec - keep my current rear proportioning valve and get hold of a Feb 87
master cylinder. I would like to upgrade to rear discs also but the
problem I have with using 87 coupe parts is that the  rear hub bolt
pattern would end up being different to the front (100mm vs 108mm) I have
thought about using 16V scirocco rear discs/hub/stub axle (this is 100mm
bolt pattern) but I am not sure if this caliper unit is the same as that
used on the coupe. Do you know ?. Additionally, how easy is the
modification of the handbrake setup from rear drums to rear calipers ?
